The title is a tribute to the legions of programmers that learn “Hello World” as their first lesson in a new programming language. O’Reilly Media in Sebastopol is probably responsible for more “Hello World’s” than anybody on the planet, so this post is honoring O’Reilly, Sebastopol, and the host of programmers, artists, farmers, teachers, and entrepreneurs that have made Sebastopol their home.

I have a modest goal for this site. I like writing about country land, farms, farm houses, and the architectural and landscape details that elicit a smile or a nod of admiration. Sebastopol real estate is full of those moments and I would like to share some of them with you. I have other web presences in Sonoma County including Sonoma.Net and my Sonoma County Blog, but this site is just going to be about Sebastopol. I welcome your input.
